East of The River CT Chapter

Are the Hosts and Sponsors of
The Annual Statewide Walk to Remember

Please allow us to tell you a bit about our Chapter

Whether your family has had a child die (at any age, from any cause)
or you are trying to help those who have gone through this life altering experience,
The Compassionate Friends
exists to provide friendship, understanding, and hope
to those going through the natural grieving process.

At a National and International Level,
The Compassionate Friends
has been supporting bereaved families after the death of a child for four decades.
TCF East Of the River CT is one of the 10 available Connecticut Chapters,
and was founded in 2010, by Leader Bettie-Jeanne Rivard-Darby, Jim Darby and Walk Chairperson Gayle Darby Clark in honor of RobynApril Rivard-Darby; along with Treasurer Dave Evans in honor of his son, Ryan Evans.

Our TCF East Of the River CT meetings are held monthly in  Manchester, CT.
All bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings,
no matter what location is called home, are welcomed to join us.

In addition to The Compassionate Friends local services,
the National Office and its staff also provide many levels of support to local chapters,
as well as individual responses to those who call on the phone, contact TCF through the website,
or send an e-mail that simply says, “My child has died. Help me!”

We will be here as long as you need us. That is our commitment to you.

Time has proven that in caring and sharing comes healing.

We Welcome You
